"La Durmiente" awarded at Uruguay

Maria Inês Gonçalves' film won the Best Short Film Award from the children's jury (M/12) at the Uruguay International Film Festival.

The short film “La Durmiente” (Maria Inês Gonçalves, 2025, Portugal/Spain, DOC/FIC, 20′) won the Best Short Film Award in the Children's Competition (M/12) at the 43rd edition of the Uruguay International Film Festival.

The jury committee for this competition, made up only of young people between the ages of 12 and 18 years old, defended the award with the following statement: “For the construction and setting that transports us to the world of child's play, where the boundary between reality and fantasy is blurred to tell the story”.
