The films directed by Alice Eça Guimarães and Marta Reis Andrade have been shortlisted for the bero-American Animation Quirino Awards.
The short films “Because Today is Saturday” (Alice Eça Guimarães, 2025, Portugal/France/Spain, ANI, 12′) and “Dog Alone” (Marta Reis Andrade, 2025, Portugal/France, ANI, 13′) have been selected among the nominees for the Ibero-American Animation Quirino Awards. At the 9th edition of this annual celebration, held in Tenerife (Spain), both films have been selected in the categories of Best Ibero-American Animation Short Film, Best Visual Development and Best Animation Design. Alice Eça Guimarães' animation is also selected for the Best Sound Design and Original Music award. The 2026 Quirino Awards will take place from April 15th to 17thl in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, on the island of Tenerife, Spain.
