Biography
Maria Trigo Teixeira, born in Lisbon in 1990, is an animation filmmaker based in Porto/Berlin. She studied Communication Design in Porto and Animation at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf in Berlin. Her graduation film "Inside me" (2019) won the German Short Film Award for Best Animation, as well as several other awards at international festivals, and was long listed for the Oscars. During 2016-2021, she programmed and organised the monthly screenings of the Shortcutz Berlin film festival. In 2021, she was selected for the NEF Animation Residency in Fontevraud, where she began developing her latest animated short "It shouldn't rain tomorrow" (2024). The film delves on a mother-daughter relationship and on the finitude of life.
