The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has announced its selection of films in competition, including the animated short film "Percebes" by Alexandra Ramires and Laura Gonçalves.
'Percebes', a short film directed by Alexandra Ramires and Laura Gonçalves, has been selected for inclusion in the 48th edition of the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF24), one of the most notorious film festivals of the North American continent. This animated film, coproduced by BAP - Animation Studios and Ikki Films, has received prestigious accolades, such as the Best Short Film Award (Cristal du Court Métrage) at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, the Audience Award at Curtas Vila do Conde - International Film Festival, among others.
Since its World premiere in June at Animafest Zagreb, it has been shown at more than 30 film festivals. The new film by Alexandra Ramires and Laura Gonçalves is preparing for its premiere in Canada, offering a unique perspective on the remarkable life of barnacles, a peculiar mollusc, with the rich cultural heritage of the Algarve region in Portugal. It should be noted that director Laura Gonçalves will be present at the festival.
