
Biografia
Porto, 1981. He graduated in Photography and Audiovisual in 2003 from the Escola Superior Artística do Porto. He is a founding member of the production company Bando à Parte and works in cinema as a director and director of photography. As a director, he made his debut in 2010 with the fictional short film Ausstieg, which received an Honorable Mention in the Experimental Competition at Curtas Vila do Conde and was screened at several international festivals. Also in 2010, he premiered the documentary On the Road to Femina at Indie Lisboa and internationally at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival. In 2011, he directed “love is the solution to the lack of argument,” which premiered at the Vila do Conde Short Film Festival, winning the award for Best Portuguese Short Film in 2012 at FEST – Festival Novos Realizadores | Novo Cinema. In 2013, he won the Grand Prize at Curtas Vila do Conde with Carosello, as well as the awards for Best Short Film and Audience Award at the Luso-Brazilian Film Festival. His work has been presented at over 40 international festivals and showcases. Sobre El Cielo, a 2015 short funded by ICA/RTP, competed in important international festivals, notably the NEXT Film Festival in Bucharest and the Crossing Europe Film Festival in Linz, among more than a dozen others. He was the featured director in the “Sangue Novo” program at the 2015 Luso-Brazilian Film Festival. In 2024, short documentary Stop - Rehearsal Rooms for a Historical Materialism had its preview at the Porto/Post/Doc Film Festival."
