André Guiomar

Biography

André Guiomar (1988, Portugal) holds a Master’s Degree in Cinema and Audiovisual. He has worked in several film production companies such as Vende-se Filmes, Cimbalino Filmes, Promarte and is a founding member of Olhar de Ulisses. His first documentary feature “Our Land, Our Altar” (2020), received the Youth Jury Prize Award at the ZINEBI Festival, the Emerging Director Award at the Porto/Post/ Doc International Competition, and had its world premiere at the Sheffield Doc/Fest. André’s previous films includes the documentary short “Skin of Light” (2018), winner of the Jury Prize at Doclisboa Film Festival (2018), “Torres” (2013), and “Píton” (2011), winner of several international awards. He was the cinematographer and editor of “A Mãe e o Mar”(2013) directed by Gonçalo Tocha and editor of the feature film Mabata Bata (2017), directed by Sol de Carvalho.
